Nothing says, “Spring!” like Strawberry Pie and with warm months coming, pie season is upon us. We love our Pyrex Basics Pie Plates for summer entertaining. Use store bought crust and any seasonal fruit for a dessert that no one can resist.
2 store bought, roll out pie shells
6 cups strawberries, hulled and halved
1 cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling
3 tablespoons all purpose flour
1 lemon, zested and juiced
1 stick of unsalted butter, divided with ½ cubed and the other ½ melted
Line one pie circle on the bottom of a Pyrex Basics Pie Plate. With the remaining pie circle cut lattice line and/or punch our desired shapes. Keep cold in refrigerator while you make
In a large bowl combine strawberries, sugar, flour, lemon zest and juice. Place in pie shell and scatter butter. Top with lattice filling.
If desired melted the remaining ½ stick of butter and brush the lattice, then sprinkle with more sugar and bake for 40-45 minutes until browned and bubbly. If top browns before juices bubble, reduce the heat to 350° F and bake until desired result.
